Select only the best blackberry leaves

Tear leaves from the stem and rip/crush them into a clean kettle.

The clean, crushed leaves are gathered into a clean cloth.

Dampen bundle of leaves and leave to ferment in light shade on a warm day.

After three days the blackberry leaves have a pleasant floral aroma. They are laid loosely in non-absorbent pans, out of the breeze but in a well ventilated area, to dry in light shade.
